What do you give the mom who has everything and doesn’t necessarily need any baby items for her new baby? A mini shower! What’s a mini shower? Well, it’s a small celebration that is very low-key, free of gifts, but still festive enough to celebrate mom and the anticipation of her baby.
As the saying goes, ‘April showers brings May flowers.’ For this tablescape I chose a gender neutral color palette in shades of grey, aqua and yellow – to match the theme of the shower . I found the Daisy Digital Paper Pack by Babystar Design, Sunny Skies Damask and Sunny Skies Pattern Pack 2 both by Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons to create a few of the party elements like die cut clouds, raindrops, party crackers and the most adorable baby shoes!
These paper baby shoes were created using my Cricut machine (Artiste Cartridge). I also made a small sign on my computer and framed it in an Ikea Tolsby frame. Placing these items on stacked hat boxes makes for a very visual point of interest.
I love working with patterned paper because there are so many ways you can really take the look of something as simple as a candy bar, up a notch! I created wrappers for these chocolate bars using the digi paper and strips of washi tape!
Finger foods will do just fine for an event of this capacity. I placed grapes, bread sticks and dressing out for guests to nibble on. For desserts, staples like cupcakes and meringue cookies are perfect sweets for a small affair.
No need for games at a mini shower, but a perfect activity is to have guests sign a framed art print, baby onesie or find a unique way to offer well wishes with a mounted sign onto poster board.
Thank guests for their time with a small bag filled with candy or a cracker box decorated with rosettes and ribbons.
If you like the idea of a mini baby shower and want to plan one for someone special, just stick to keeping everything very scaled down, low key and very simple!
